The delivery of the state certificate examinations would not be possible without the co-operation of the thousands of teachers who are appointed each year to supervise and mark the examinations. We depend on teachers for the professionalism; commitment and diligence with which they approach these critical roles each year. We are continuing to recruit for examining and superintending positions for the 2017 examinations as indicated in the list below.

Benefits of Examining
As well as the ability to earn extra income there are many other positive benefits to becoming an examiner which include gaining a deeper understanding of the assessment process, enhancing your teaching practice and improving your professional development and career prospects. We have recently published a Poster and Information leaflet which provide further information about the reasons why you should consider applying. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified teachers regardless of their level of teaching experience and we would encourage newly qualified and recently qualified teachers to apply. Examiners are selected on the basis of a number of factors and teaching experience is only one. We are also interested in your assessment experience and your qualifications. Full training is provided and a support network is available throughout the marking process. Decisions on appointment are made by the SEC having regard to the cohort of applicants and the demand of the particular subject.
