Organising Superintendent for the Viewing of Scripts

Organising Superintendent for the Viewing of Scripts

Information Note

Information Note

To facilitate the earlier issue of the Leaving Certificate appeal results this year, some aspects of the role of the Organising Superintendent are changing. Most of these change are associated with the timing of the process as the Viewing of Scripts is happening earlier in August but there is also a change in how the State Examinations Commission (SEC) will communicate with you and how you will communicate with candidates. The purpose of this initial information note is to provide some key information about the role and the arrangements for this year. We will also be providing a Step by Step guide to assist you in carrying out the role in late July.

This is an extremely important role. As Organising Superintendent you have overall responsibility for all aspects of the administration and management of the viewing process in your school.

To streamline communications and to bring about the earlier issue of the results of the Leaving Certificate appeals, the SEC has developed a Candidate Self Service Portal for Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied candidates. The Candidate Self Service Portal is an extension of the SEC's online results service and as well as providing access to results online it will also allow candidates to apply to view scripts, to access component marks, to view scripts in subjects that are being marked online this year, to make an appeal application and to access appeal results.

When candidates register on the portal, we capture their e-mail address and phone numbers. We will then provide this information to you so that you can make appointments with candidates for the viewing session
