The State Examinations Commission (SEC) is offering schools an exciting opportunity to get involved in an important prospective development in science education. We would like to invite schools to participate in a trial of practical assessment in the Leaving Certificate Science Subjects – Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Students in participating schools will benefit from undertaking the practical work, which is closely related to the existing courses in these subjects, and teachers will gain an insight into the development of the proposed model of practical assessment. All schools are welcome to apply and details have been posted to schools and are available to view in the links below. Twenty eight schools will be selected to participate.
